Rachel Anne McAdams was born on the 17th
of November 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada Rachel Anne McAdams was the
daughter of Sandra Kay (Gale), nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams who is a
truck driver and furniture moving. She is Englishand is Welsh- -, Irish--, and
Scottish. Rachel was involved in acting in her teens and by 13 she was
performing in Shakespearean productions at summer theatre camp; she graduated
with distinction, earning an honors BFA degree in theater at York University.
After appearing in Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson episode (1998) She starred
in Slings and Arrows, a Canadian comedy-drama which follows the struggles and
triumphs of the Shakespearean theatre group. In 2003, she won the Gemini award.
Her performance as Regina George, in Mean Girls (2004), instantly became a
top-rated actress on Hollywood's most coveted young actresses. After that she
co-starred with Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama adaptation of Nicholas
Sparks' bestseller The Notebook (2004). The Notebook was a huge hit at the box
office and became the most popular romantic drama for a young audience.
Following filming, McAdams and Gosling became romantically linked and began
dating through the middle of 2007. McAdams then showed her range onscreen with
the manic comedy Wedding Crashers (2005), the thriller Red Eye (2005), and the
Christmas drama The Family Stone (2005).McAdams then went on to explore the
world of independent film through Married Life (2007), which debuted at Toronto
Film Festival and also featured Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper and Patricia
Clarkson. McAdams appeared in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State of Play (2008) as
well as State of Play (2008). McAdams also appeared in The Time Traveler's
Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's worldwide hit Sherlock Holmes
(2009). McAdams was the smart producer of Morning Glory (2010). She also was
the fiancee with a materialistic character Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s
Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned to romantic drama territory with The
Vow (2012), in which she was a co-star with Channing Tatum. The actress also
stars with Ben Affleck in Terrence Malick's To the Wonder (2012) as well as
alongside Noomi Rapace in Brian De Palma's thriller Passion (2012).In 2005,
McAdams received ShoWest's "Supporting Actress of the Year" Award as
well as the "Breakthrough Actress of the Year" at the Hollywood Film
