Steve Aoki
Steve Aoki was created in Miami, Florida
on the 30th November 1977. American electro house music producer D.J., and
record producer Steve Aoki is his nickname. & music executive. He is
the third child of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father was a wrestler,
who also founded the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older siblings who
are sisters Kana who is commonly known as Grace due to her middle name Grace,
and brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi). His half-sister's model and actress
is Devon Aoki. He was born in Newport Beach and graduated from Newport Harbor
High School with the class of 1995 with a B.A. in badminton. He went on to UC
Santa Barbara and graduated with a 2nd B.A. He earned two bachelor's degrees:
one in feminist Studies and the other in Sociology. He produced DIY records and
held underground performances from his Biko room in the Santa Barbara Student
Housing Cooperative during his time at college. For its use as a venue for
concerts, the room became known as The Pickle Patch. He also was involved in
student protests at UCSB. He was the founder of an organization called the
Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. He had also started an
independent record label when he was during the 20s. It was named Dim Mak, after
his idol from childhood Bruce Lee. He came out with I'm In the House in March
2010 in collaboration with Zuper Blahq his alter-ego will.i.am from The Black
Eyed Peas. The track hit No. 29 on the U.K. Singles Chart in its 1st week of
release. The track later made it into the U.K. Dance Chart & the U.K.
Indie Chart, peaking within the top 5 in both charts. The song was included on
MTV's Jersey Shore, as well as the feature film Piranha and the trailer for
Think Like A Man. Producer and songwriter Lucas Secon confirmed in a interview
in May 2010 with HitQuarters that he & Rivers Cuomo had recently worked
w/ Aoki on the single. He was named the highest-grossing American dance artist
by Pollstar in 2012. His collaborations include artists such as Afrojack, LMFAO
and Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS, Louis
Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici & Fall Out Boy. He's famous for
remixes of artists such as Kid Cudi
